Most unfortunately, I won't be going.

I had plans but sadly they won't eventuate for various reasons.

Missing an audio show in my home town is just sad :(

To all those who do go, have fun and remember to take lots of photos.

....bah, just got back....rooms are too hot or too cold and too small

Probably 5 of them were good and not too packed with crap.

Vaf did a nice job as always, as did Krispy Kables.

I liked the JBL's, the Legacy's (Pymble Hifi), ZenSati and Audiovector

Vaf also had probably the best cube speaker I've ever heard - think BOSE size. Not my cup of tea, but very impressive nevertheless. First time I've heard the MKII speakers as well as the new DCX35 - all awesome. Still my favourite Seas array by a manufacturer - better than Triad IMO

Nice to meet Cameron from Krispy, Brian (Guru) at Audio Note, Mike Lenehan & his fantastic ML2's being driven by a Once Analogue deck thru one of Elson Silva's integrated amps (my fave sound so far). Also bumped into Art van der Lar ( huh, that was funny). Back tomorrow!

Any serious LP replay?

I was thinking of bringing some 45RPM 4 DISC LP's along to listen to ....Willie Nelson "Stardust' ok?

Quite a few rooms had LP set up......I know nothing of it, so cant tell you what was what.

......lots of digital stuff via iPads, lots and lots of it

I didn't realise ZenSati was a cable company....the speakers they had running impressed me - Evolution Acoustics, similar sort of tweeter to what I have at home from what I can gather. Not an AMT, but some sort of folded ribbon

....beautiful cabinets too, might have been an MMOne? either way, liked em

The highlight of the show was the stunning lass in the skin tight pants with the English accent at the entrance to the Beaumont Room (occupied by Yamaha Music Australia).

LOL.......but she had a southern accent.....well I guess that might be considered good by some ;)

I wasn't looking at her accent..... although even that may have been the best sound at the show. :P

A nice veneer over beautiful cabinets then? :)

I have my 2 hour leave pass but managed to retain the fantastic plastic.

Will be there tomorrow morning thanks to Nigel. Figure an early start might be the quietest time of day.

Might discover something worth letting the wallet moths out.

Hopefully a few familiar faces.

More info here than any other site. Promoters not doing a great job compared to ppl here. Hopefully cutting costs to keep rates for all at a minimum.

That's just what I didn't want to hear.

The upcoming WiFi protocal [That allows the Highest current/as in latest, Def signals to be transmitted wirelessly, as awaited on by the likes of the Deviant Amp] has yet to be ratified.

Brief wander around L5 Fri arvo. More tm afternoon... By and large disappointing sound - boomy bass, exacerbated by too loud volumes and poor positioning... Best sound so far was toss up between 2: the room with the technical brain amp (engaging designer was there) with mini one (?) speakers.- I think they were a 2 way transmission line with subs turned off. The bricasti dac sounded pretty good compared to the other big ticket item.

The other room was with the thrax equipment. Not sure what speakers they were but sounded great!

Speakers in both these rooms had ribbon tweeters that were well integrated. Maybe I'm partial to this design done well - smooth, very transparent, fast and extended... Thrax room perhaps the better treble but overall I stayed longer in the techical brain/ bricasti room...

Surprised that SGR not exhibiting this year...

I suppose it's a dumb question seeing the lack of take up of the technology in it's homeland of Australia.

Anybody showcasing the latest DEQX?

As far as I know there is Kyron dipole active system with deqx built-in. But then they demo with laptop/ipad !?? and the size of the room cant do the justice.

Like the other guys said.... lots of laptop/iPad playing even there is table in the room.

Just found out ETI aren't showing due to economic reasons. Sad to see another one apparently gone. The receivers were trying to get the organisers to refund the money paid for their space.
