The details for the next hifi show have just arrived, organised by the same people as did the one last October in Melbourne. This one is in Sydney, at the Sheraton On The Park Hotel. Dates are 19th to 21st October, same format as last time with a Friday afternoon, then Saturday and Sunday.

For exhibitors, room costs have risen a bit but the rooms are also bigger in some cases and more choice. Mainly on the 5th and 6th floors with some suites and trade spaces on level 1.

Promises of much improved loading and unloading for exhibitors...

Have stayed there before. Maybe i should book my room there from now.

Visit the show and do the round of some of the sydney SNA good folks.

I also missed the Melbourne show, but there is no way I will be missing this one.

Time to start saving for a nice room at the Sheraton for the week, so I can catch up with a lot of SNA people as well as other friends/family etc.

Cheapest room is $4129- ex. GST according to my list. Most are certainly head towards and over 6k. Biggest is almost $17k ex. GST...

...and that's for how many days exactly, four? Geez you'd be hoping to generate some sales wouldn't you to cover costs at the very least.

Is it quantifiable the value of an investment like that though via sales and getting the brand 'out there'?

Or is it just hands on advertising so to speak and as such you don't worry too much about the cost , rather you hope for sales and lots of them.

Two and a half days really for the exhibition when it is open to the public. But it will cost a lot more than just that, insurance, shipping, extra stock, extra wages, accommodation, transport etc. There are several ways to look at it, if you can afford to advertise in magazines regulary, the cost is that of just a few full size adverts. The return would likely be better than the adverts. If you are a small, maybe one-man band, then it is a very serious commitment.

Are glossy ads really that exxy...hmm, I see your point.

I'm glad the Sydney guys get to have their own show.

I look forward to seeing the pictures and reading the discussions after the show next year.

even if they are a little strange.....

not sure I'll be able to make it - maybe I should start planning too...

One person's strange is another person's conventional.
