Hi All,

Just wondering how many bro here are using their 360 as a media extender?

I have recenly set up my 360 to connect to my Vista Media Center and after going through many problems, sleepless nights with network connections/codec/ i finally get it to work...

here are some very good plugin's for you, if you are interested

http://www.mymovies.name/

allows you to input meta or xml information to your rip dvd's, such as cover art

http://tversity.com/

another great software for you to stream your audio/video files without going through media center... support transcoding on the file for many file format

http://transcode360.co.uk/

the popular transcode360... allows you to transcode on the fly for .avi, mpg, dixv, vob file from media center extender...

Cheers

I still can't get my Vista Media Centre to speak to my XBox 360.

Didn't have so much problem when I was using Windows XP.  :(

Wow what does this do?

Allow xbox360 to be used to show all the movies as per media centre? I'm using mymovies also.

If that's so, I think thats a great investment for me just for this functionality.  ;D

hi quest,

yeah... basically xbox 360 can act as a extender to play back music/video store at your media center PC... (except for DVD *.VOB files)

currently using it as a media server.. which is great... i can stream my videos/music without burning to disc... or purchase network streamer such as squeezebox etc

i think the interface where album art is automatically displayed... :)

yeah... Microsoft decided not to piss the folks off in hollywood.. so you cant play back .vob... however there is always a work around... call transcoding on the fly... :)

you can just download here http://transcode360.co.uk/

or if you like, you can transcode to .mpg to view it directly...
