kenshin07 Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Hi guys I'm thinking of setting up a system in my bed room. I've speaker and CDP was wondering what amp will go nice with bedroom setup. Was thinking of MP5. Will appreciate your input. Thanks. Budget is about $300-400 Type of music I listen: - Basso Nova - Vocal - some instrumental speaker: Wharfedale diamond 9.1 CDP: Marantz CD63
kj87 Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 dared mp5 imo is a 'slower' amp, not v suited for faster music but i think your tastes gear towards slower ones....so it should be fine. if your bedroom isn't huge, the wharfsdale will do, cuz mp5 isn't v powerful to begin with.... from my limited knowledge of small ss amp, you can try yulong t-amp too. heard good stuff about it.
kenshin07 Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 u prefer tubes Or ss amp? Hi Both type should not be a problem as long it can bring out the full potiental of the speaker.
SiriuslyCold Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 the new Pioneer kit looks like its made for a bedroom setup
kenshin07 Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 Is there any recommended amp that can bring out the full potiential of this speaker within 1k new/used?
SiriuslyCold Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 1K would be overkill for this speaker, IMHO I thot I saw someone selling a Rotel RA02 but I can't find it now.. probably gone but - look for amps at that level I guess, like this Denon PMA1500

But dun get me wrong when I mean alive with tube doesn't mean it doesn't go well with ss amp. In fact I been using NAD320Bee with the diamond for 1.5years before I actually try tube. SS amp do goes well with this diamond but do pay more attention to SS is that it may sound a bit fast compare to tube. Thanks for the pic. Now will need to look for a mini tube.
JT Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I used to be having Marantz SR4500 amp w/ Aego speakers, MF X10D and Panasonic DVD disc changer in my bedroom. I think the Marantz amp will be ok for your requirement.
