The sale guy say I can buy the phone without contract but will not be able to activate it unless I signed up with AT&T. Any bro in this forum own one and running under Singapore Service provided instead? So tempted to buy one ;D In HK it is selling for HK$6500 whereas in SIngapore $950.. IPhone without the phone function retailing at 8GB US$299..16GB US$399
ckng Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Hi, Because it's locked, they don't force you to sign a contract (they assume that since it's locked you'll have to get an AT&T plan and won't be able to use other telcos). There are several people in the Mac User Group of Singapore who managed to unlock it and run on our 3 telcos. Instructions to do this are available freely online. But do note that these instructions will no longer work with the latest 1.1.1 firmware and any new sets of iPhones. And upgrading to new firmware will render the cracked 1.0.2 iPhones useless at the worst. Regards CK

Actually there are online cracks available to enable the unit to be used internationally. it is a good buy , have used it before and the interface is beyond anything that I have used before. Totally out of this world. The UI is really really good. Only setback is that there is no 3G. heh are u coming back to Singapore soon? can lompang to buy? :p

Heard so much feedback about problem with Crack Iphone though.

There are many people in singapore using the Iphone already..forums like Hardwarezone has an array of threads for tips and tricks to patch your Iphone. If you wish to wait it'll be a long one...

Trying to "influence" my friend who is going to Anchorage(tax free) to buy one for himself so that I can "tumpang" on his purchased. ;D ;D Hopefully when Apple released the Iphone in Europe they will not tie up with Service provider. It seems that it is illegal in Europe to have "Tie Up".
