ekardo Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 currently using a Hitachi 9500, wall mounted and so, i had problem accessing the Input panel. See picture below for my TV console. I currently had 1 LG HTS, and 1 SCV Digital Setup box, I also have xbox and PS2, but it's not hooked up yet. Most likely going to get a PS3 soon. Hitachi 9500 do not have HDMI side input, so if I have PS3, I have to connect to the Receiver too? Will getting a receiver solve my problem of without having to access the input panel from my TV? and is there any one that is sub$1k to recommend ?
pcking1624705747 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Do note that once you introduce a new AV Receiver, U will have to connect your existing LG HTS speakers to this new receiver. And if the existing sub-woofer is passive, U might not be able to use it.
pcking1624705747 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 what is meant by Passive? Passive means that your sub does not have a amp inside. It is being powered by your LG HTS. Does your sub have a power cord to the AC Mains ?
synthesis1624705793 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Will getting a receiver solve my problem of without having to access the input panel from my TV? You have the same problem by accessing the input from your receiver instead, plus you have to turn on your receiver to view your TV.
Phil1624705739 Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Assuming you are referring to the rear input panel, the easiest solution is to purchase a wall-mounting bracket with tilt function. One with sufficient clearance for you to reach the reach panel. Phil
ekardo Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 the wall mounting blacket that comes with the TV did not have tilting feature...but since I did not lock the screw, I can still tilt the TV...but only can tilt around 40deg.. my subwoofer does not have a power cord..so, it's passive... :( meaning I cannot use this set of speakers for the Receiver ?

You can still use your current LR, C & Surround speakers. As for the sub, U can just buy an active sub to replace it. ;)

That's what happens with poor planing or when aesthetics overide practicality
dmateo Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 a few comments. What you can do is, Get all the possible connection that you want to get into the feature wall. Connect them to the TV (don't forget to label them). You can either get a receiver or a HDMI switching devices to switch multiple input into the screen if you don't fancy a receiver. Bear in mind that the most shallow receiver that I've seen in market is around 35cm mark (I think onkyo is at 37.7 for their 605 and 705 model), while most high end stuff are at 42+ (onkyo is 46.8cm). Please make sure that your console has enough depth to hold this monster and they are by no means light either..(875 is around 23Kg ???). Hope things works out for you.

Bose is ideal for people like him. Bose Is The Best!!!
