With 881 crossing the S$3 million mark, I think it is going to end its run soon.

Perhaps around November we will see the 881 DVD as local movies tend to come out with DVDs pretty quickly.

This is 1 DVD I am looking forward to! Love the movie in the cinema.

after all, this release is by local publisher... you all know one lah...small cost...big returns.

if i want to buy, would rather wait for HK release... at least HK publishers show some respect to local studio.

Just got my 881 DVD at TS.

Comes with a free brand new soundtrack EXCLUSIVELY at TS. This soundtrack got music from the movie, plus some additional hokkien songs which are very very hilarious! Need to redeem the free CD at the counter.

S$21.90 each at TS. Saw a whole carton full of reserved copies of the DVD!

Got my copy from Compass Point during lunch.  Exclusive music CD they charge an additional $2 if you are not a TS Video member (member gets it for free).

Very popular...almost everyone who step in there to bought the 881 DVD.  Very clever marketing.....

Just watched it (No, I have not seen the movie; been waiting to watch it on DVD.)

(1) Good movie but the thing that irritate me is the mention of death too many times and the last part is just a little too draggy.

(2) The most disappointing aspect of this DVD is they letterbox a 4:3 picture.  In this age of Blu-Ray; HD-DVD , Plasma and LCD display, they still want to produce a 4:3 DVD!!!  What happened is you will get 4 wide black borders surrounding the picture.  What a shame!

(3) They release what...how many soundtracks?  (To my knowledage, at least 4 CDs) and what?  Just plain PCM Stereo Audio on this DVD!  Another disappointment.

Just imagine just how much better this movie/ DVD would be if it got a happy ending, picture is full glory amaphoric 1.75 and DTS sound....wow!....Dream on....

Saving grace are the singing, the songs, the use of dialect , the costumes, the ah-bengness.....a commendable effort, nevertheless.  It's home.......(No, I cannot accept 4:3 letterbox picture, that's not Singapore!!!)
