HT102 Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 http://projector.zol.com.cn/64/649378.html W20000 Specs: - CR 20,000:1 - HQV processing - 1080p/24fps support - Dual iris - 1200 ansi lumens It is mentioned in AVSforum that BenQ planned to implement Darkchip4 in this product and price it similar to W10000.
Jag Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Nice. I just hope that DLP's DC4 actually can rival JVC's LCOS native CR. I have a feelin that DLP seems to have reached a peak in the native CR, while LCD latest panels continue to exceed/equal DLP; and LCOS have zoomed past the former CR king. Im starting to lose faith in DLP......

Im starting to lose faith in DLP...... The Marantz 15S1 seemed to be garnering rave reviews in Cedia.. ranked higher than Sony's VW60 and even the RS2.
audionoob1624705779 Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Looks like a new lens assembly on the W20K. Maybe more zoom range?
HT102 Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Looks like a new lens assembly on the W20K. Maybe more zoom range? I certainly hope it is short-throw. Whoopee! W20000 has been registered with PSB, implying that they already have a test set in Singapore. Basedon my past experience with PE7700, BenQ Sg has always been a leader in pricing and after-sales service, they should not disappoint this time. http://www.safety.org.sg/register/searchregister.php?reg_no=&trade_nme=&model_no=W20000
audionoob1624705779 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Whoopee! W20000 has been registered with PSB, implying that they already have a test set in Singapore. Three wish list: Shorter throw, Darkchip 4, and of course lower price.
Phil1624705739 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 The key as with all DLPs is............ throw distance! Phil
BobaFett Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Is this a short-throw PJ? Or long-throw PJ just like the Optoma HD80?
HT102 Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 Is this a short-throw PJ? Or long-throw PJ just like the Optoma HD80? Long throw. BenQ is using the same lens found in W10000. Also, no DarkChip4 as we had hoped. Next.. :P Official Specs: http://www.benq.com.cn/product.aspx?filename=W20000.xml
HT102 Posted November 10, 2007 Author Posted November 10, 2007 BenQ W20000 will be showcased in the coming Sight & Sound exhibition. http://www.avmagazine.com/02/2007exhibition.html
zermat Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 For short throw, can consider the Marantz VP-11S1. Granvision at the Adelphi (4th floor) selling it below S$12K with HDMI mod to version 3. Brand new with local Marantz warranty. Understand limited stock.

audionoob1624705779 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Any pricing hint for the Benq W20000 or W5000?
Jag Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Its definately not going to be 1.2k..... as far as typo is concerned. :P
