sonic Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Want to DIY 1 set normal cheap component cable with some 75ohm RG6 cables lying around.. Can I use the above Neutrik RCA plug as cost around $2 each.. I saw they did come in red, green & blue marking.. Or they are strictly for audio interconnect only.. Any advise?
sonic Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 Try to go for Canare Crimp RCA plugs. Have that in mind but 6 X Canare Crimp RCA plugs already $42 not including svc charge from LHS if any..
Jag Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Yes, you can use those but I would not recommend using them for quality and durability reasons. The soldering joint introduces distortion as the different metals introduce distortion into the signal and cabling. If you are not expecting much (i.e. can work can liao), then this is ok for short lengths of <3m. If you are expecting quality pq and/or working with lengths greater than 3m, then maybe the Canare Crimp RCA plugs is a better choice.
