armoury Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 How odd, for once in my life I'll be going "Keano! Keano!" whilst yellowhandman might be cursing him when the dust settles... And of course "Martin O'Neill rules!" ;D Don't think there's any point going "Come on you Rams", though, they're a pretty sorry bunch, well out of their depth. I mean, if even the Totts can hammer them 4-0...
SiriuslyCold Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 After the first half it was looking depressingly familiar - a hatful of unconverted chances. Kuyt deserved a goal, Mascherano is the Monster, Babel looked partly lost, Arbeloa is the new Finnan and Daniel Agger=Alan Hansen Another clean sheet too.
silencer13 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Nice 6-0. It became painful to watch after the 3rd goal. Switched to Bolton v Everton for a more balanced game. Now waiting for ManU Sunderland. Go Keano! (damn, never thought I'd say those words!!)
SiriuslyCold Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 course by the tie we get the youtube addon here the EPL clips have been taken off highlights despite not playing very well, Babel's goal was a peach http://www.d1g.com/video/show/1327250
yellowhandman Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 as a united fan... yes, we're playing crap, but we played well in our first three games and didn't win. now we've played crap in our last two games, and won 1-0 each time. some people say that playing badly and winning is the form of champions. ;D ;D ;D
Spunky Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 nice to see that with gerrard and carra out, the team is inspired enough to have a nice win as well as another clean sheet!! ;)
Pingu1624705792 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Looks like Liverpool is the team to beat this season..that's why Chelsea were so lucky that day to escape with a draw...
Spunky Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Looks like Liverpool is the team to beat this season..that's why Chelsea were so lucky that day to escape with a draw... It's still too early! I guess it's heartening for all liverpool fans to see the new boys settling in fast, esp all the strikers finding the back of the goal in this early stage and helping themselves with the points against lesser opponents!! ;) Anyway, there're only a handful of teams that have any realistic chance of winning the PL. ;D The rest simply don't have the depth in their squad for sustained challenge! remember, 3rd placed Liverpool was some 20+ pts behind last season!
SiriuslyCold Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 they say things even out over the course of a season. perhaps today Rob Styles' penalty award evened out as Chelsea were denied a clear penalty early in the game Villa 2 - 0 Chelsea

dbchoong Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Did not watch the game but if so, my heart goes out to Moanrinho. :-X Roman left in disgust once the 2nd goal went in. ;) Chelsea had the lion's share of the game, but this was not their day.
yellowhandman Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 they say things even out over the course of a season. perhaps today Rob Styles' penalty award evened out as Chelsea were denied a clear penalty early in the game Villa 2 - 0 Chelsea it was one of those incidents that looks worse in slow mo. on the replays, it looks like the defender literally climbed over SWP, but i think what happened was that SWP started to stumble and the guy behind couldn't stop. but because SWP is so small, the guy's momentum took him over SWP. but wasn't there also a possible penalty the other way? looked like a push by terry in the box. the villa player went down a little lightly, but then terry has won penalties in the same situation.
armoury Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 And of course "Martin O'Neill rules!" ;D Martin O'Neill rules! ;D
lewlian Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 May 2008 is a long way to go and anything can happen. However am at least personally pleased with my team's start (for a change).
SiriuslyCold Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 ditto. much better start from last year - as they say, you can't win the league in September but as we found out last year you can certainly lose it
Spunky Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 May 2008 is a long way to go and anything can happen. However am at least personally pleased with my team's start (for a change). even sweeter when the top 2 contenders for EPL lost pts in this early stage!! ;D
armoury Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 May 2008 is a long way to go and anything can happen. However am at least personally pleased with my team's start (for a change). Likewise. Are you still "football-less" in Shanghai?
lewlian Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 Yeah. Bloody c**k-up. Either get a new satellite dish/provider or otherwise its a lucky draw depending on what match Star Sports decide to telecast. At times with the polluted/cloudy skyline the signals aren't exactly clear. Failing which gotta watch it via streaming over the net. Sad indeed.
SiriuslyCold Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 its somewhat ironic, considering all the world's P2P football feed comes from China.. LOL
SiriuslyCold Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 for stamp on Arbeloa, missed by ref
lewlian Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 its somewhat ironic, considering all the world's P2P football feed comes from China.. LOL the 'friendly' satellite most of us have are periodically jammed, especially in the evenings...the friendly vendors have to come up with a new card to go round this and the cat and mouse game continues... LOL..
lewlian Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 for stamp on Arbeloa, missed by ref what a nasty and stupid thing to do..
yellowhandman Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 what a nasty and stupid thing to do.. was there any other incident between them before the stamp? cuz just looking at the clip, it looks like it could be accidental...
