Sharp PX5M & HDMI

Recommended Posts

Hi, bros. Need your help.

My friend has connected directly a Denon 1730 to the Sharp PX5M using HDMI cable. But there is no signal - Video and Audio. Usually, once connected, the Denon wallpaper should be displayed.

However, using Video Composite RCA, there is NO problem.

What happen? Does he need to calibrate or adjust some settings? Which one - player or LCD?

BTW, is it true that on the Denon 1730, if the HDMI is set to output ONLY video, similar problem may also encountered? The audio source is piped thru using optical digital to AV directly.

Kindly advise  ::)

Just came back from KEC.

It's hard to tell where's the problem. But like damteo pointed out, need to chk the Denon HDMI setting. Cable and LCD TV should not be the source of problem. BUT KEC has mentioned that for HDMI, it seems that there is known issue between Denon player and Philips - HDMI handshaking problem. So far, Sony, Samsung and Pioneer Plasma are OK.

Then KEC itch me with new Denon 3808 AV  8)  Tried SACD multi-ch on PS3 with it, via HDMI. And SACD on Denon 1930 via 5.1ch analog  ;D :o And then hor.....Blu-ray on PS3  :-X
