agent K Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 still remember got 1 guy made a funny version of 无间道? promoting the CDPro2? I am still very curious, is it just a part or there are commercial CDP that's using the CDPro2? Why is it so good? i saw the Hokkien version of Infernal Affairs promoting this CDP called CDPro2..hahaa..its hilarious... ;D ;D But is it fact or friction? I am interested to find out as well. :D
ckng Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 CDPro2 is a high end transport mechanism by Philips. Regards CK
2100 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 The Vimak DT-600 (low 2K retail only) is using the CDPro2M Check it out at Aural Designs. Do a google on the drive.
2100 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 wah, just a CDP only cost $2K???? Unfortunately yes. If one is on a budget and wants to play more discs (with HDCD decoding even), there is always the excellent Oppo 981. http://www.oppodigital.com/dv981hd/index.html
imbest Posted August 29, 2007 Author Posted August 29, 2007 if using 981HD, which output shall I use for 2 channel sound? the front LR or coaxial(is this the same as Optical)? Let's say the amp used is entry level tube amp, like Dared MP5 :D HDCD quite ex right?
ckng Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 if using 981HD, which output shall I use for 2 channel sound? the front LR or coaxial(is this the same as Optical)? Let's say the amp used is entry level tube amp, like Dared MP5 :D HDCD quite ex right? HDCD is quite common now, even cheap players have it. I think the Oppo has HDCD. btw, anyone knows how much a CDPro2M costs? Just the transport. Regards CK
imbest Posted August 29, 2007 Author Posted August 29, 2007 guess I will not want to mix the CDP meant for music appreciation with the DVD player that can also act as a CDP. With no proper set up in place, I dun think it's wise to go for such a high end transport too....but if $$$ is not a problem, I will really want to have 1 haha!
Heng Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I also saw a few new Shanling tube CD players come with CDPro2 (CD-T1500, CD-T3000PRO, CD5000PRO). Dunno the price though...
ical Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I'm also looking at Philips CD-Pro 2. For non MIC, the made in Italy Monrio Top Loader 2 at about $5K seem to be the most reasonable. The Top Loader 3 tube cd looks damn cool but cost a bomb. http://www.monrio.it/en/product_detail.asp?cacod=56&MONRIO_TOP_LOADER_TYPE_2 http://www.monrio.it/en/product_detail.asp?cacod=52&MONRIO_TOP_LOADER_TYPE_3
2100 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 huh? CD player also got tube one? Brudder, nowadays computer, radio, Philips mini-compo and active speakers also got tube wat..... Now we have LCDs and fluorescent displays on hifi equipment, you know a certain manufacturer they are using this thing called red nixie which is a amber/red tube which could display info.
bolts1624705732 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 my tv also got tube, very analog ;D ;D Black and white, izzit?
basspundit Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Haha those days when the TV flickers, a good 'bang' on the side solves the problems......Now this new fangled digitronics, spoil means spoil, no amount of hantum'ing works :( my tv also got tube, very analog ;D ;D
