2100 Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 The best next step for you to take is to get a true blue SET, the true triodes. ;D Modding will get you much better returns. Some new ones. Melody's M845 At 18 watts per, with a 6SN7 driving a 2A3 driving an 845 in class A single-ended triode mode, Melody's new M845s are Allen Wang's entry into the high-voltage transmitter tube sweapstakes. The front panel styling shown is for the Asian market. The EU/US product matches the current Melody product sold in those markets. Almarro A325 Having finished R&D on his new 6C33C 40-watt class A push/pull Reference monos with adjustable NFB and positive current feedback for which he presently awaits chassis parts to commence production, Yoshihiro Muramatsu has begun work on the A325. That will be a 25-watt 6C33C integrated with active preamp stage unlike the A318B which uses a passive attenuator. Shown is a concept rendering of the A325. The final product could look different.

Guest francis woo Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Go to the Cattylink site and you will see tons of them around. Don't forget to request a 240V unit when you've chosen the one you are going to buy........ :)
Spunky Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 when buying MIC tube amps, make sure the size of the transformers increase with the amp's rating. If a EL34 amp's transformer is not much bigger than a EL84's, be very very wary! ;)

If a EL34 amp's transformer is not much bigger than a EL84's, be very very wary! ;) No use....coz they always encapsulate the thing. But Almarro does not really encapsulate, at least it is also easy to open for inspection for its A50125. Better for cooling also (even then running at nearly 50 deg C, I mean you guys do enjoy music for long hours right?).
imbest Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 not launched yet? wah, the power is damn HUGE.....
2100 Posted September 1, 2007 Author Posted September 1, 2007 We were playing with balanced single ended config for the Almarro 318B (2 sets were used, both sets with BG-NX Super E input + V-caps interstage coupling), ard 36W per channel. Enough to drive the 86dB Neepers now to reasonable levels. With the 97dB WLMs it was pretty fun to whack knn LOUD after all the customers have left at 7+!
