keai Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Oh no. That's just too bad. My tv just conked out and I was hoping to get a good deal at Comex.:-( bro, i am going down this afternoon, probably after 5pm, u wanna join? i will give a last try on 50" panny and see what's the last min deal. If still not attractive, just delay the purchase la, the price will drop at the end of the year, if HN wanna help me save some money, I have no objection..... :D
victoryeo Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Read in hardwarezone, someone was quoted by Parisilk at $2280 with $200 NTUC & $100 Robinsons vouchers, only standard 3 yrs warranty.

naglfar Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Was at Comex this afternoon. Was quoted $4299 + 5 years warranty + $200 voucher for 50" PV70H after some bargaining. I thought that there'll be better offer. Since I don;t need the TV now, I guess I'd wait a while more. The offer for the 42" was more attractive, with the $300 voucher even before bargaining. My viewing distance would be about 2.9 meters - I'm still thinking if 42" would be small. I have been using an InFocus X1 projector all the while, just thought it's time to upgrade if the price is right.
petetherock Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 At 2.9m the 50" is a much better screen I think the prices are too high jeffong paid <4k and SLS eg Merdeka is cheaper than the COMEX prices. naglfar Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Yup I think 42" is a little small too Pete. Just wanted to get a second opinion. 507XG is still gorgeous, but it's out of my budget :-[ Not sure if Jeff got the 5yrs and vouchers warranty for his PV70H. I'd like to get that 5yrs coverage, and if they'd throw in more vouchers I'd give it more thoughts on buying the set.
ralfale Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Finally bought my PV70 42" $2399 + $200 NTUC & $200 Robinsons + 5 yrs warranty Not a bad deal i think considering the current lowest neighbourhood price is not much lesser and with no additional warranty coverage or vouchers.
htfreak Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I got mine during the last show prior to the GST increase. I paid $3888 with $100 Robinsons voucher thrown in and only with the standard 3 year panny warranty. However, if you did take up the PWP offer for this show, then the difference would not be that much already. FYI, the Pioneer booth was selling brand new 507's for $4999 earlier.
keai Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 just came back from comex, got the 50" panny at $3999 pay by NET. $200 Robinson voucher + 5 years warranty + 3m panasonic HTMI cable. That's the best I can get already, the sales guy just don't wanna give any better especially for 5years warranty. He offered $3799 for 3 years warranty + $200 voucher but I prefer 5 years one. Expect delivery date is within these two weeks. Finally settled TV, thanks Pete/Francis/DanDon for the suggestion, else I will pay 2000~3000 more for 52" Sharp LCD, now can go for MA speakers and Marantz AMP and HTPC.... a few more months to go...;) Bought a LG 22" LCD for my computer too, now installed and happy with the really wide screen..... 8), my hardworking 7-year-old viewsonic 19" CRT finally can take a break.... ;D
ming1881 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I came late and was there at the last hour of the show and the pioneer new model price i got offered was only $5399 >:( with HT and 5yr warranty. Try very hard to ask more discount (like extra $100) but they keep telling me cannot so in the end walk to Panasonic and got the usual price at $4099. Jeff, what was the freebies they come with the $4999 if you can recall...does it come with HT? Wow i i knew that it was$4999 i would have taken it. Thanks FYI, the Pioneer booth was selling brand new 507's for $4999 earlier.
keai Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 bro ming, did u settle with Panny or u haven't purchased yet?
ming1881 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Hey keai, Yes bought last minute (at $4099) as there was some disagreement (due to misunderstanding) on payment mode as promised by other salesman. So got the 50PV70H & 32LX70M with 5yr warranty and vouchers ($200 + $150). bro ming, did u settle with Panny or u haven't purchased yet?
keai Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 that's great, with the same panel, we can share experience later ;D
ming1881 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Yup must share settings & experiences :) and also with the OPPO DV-981HD ::) that's great, with the same panel, we can share experience later ;D
ming1881 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Hi guys, Just want to check for those who bought the Panasonic plasma with Purchase With Purchase of the 32LX70M at the Comdex show...may i check what was written on your invoice for the 32"? ??? My invoice only stated EW (3+2) yrs for the 50" Plasma and nothing recorded for the 32". It is normal or should i expect to see 3yr warranty written for the 32"? Also the flyer promotional materials states 1+4 Years Extended Warranty ???....any different to the 3 (Pio) + 2 (by HN) years stated on the invoice? Thanks for your confirmation & comments. Sorry for the double post ;D

Thanks Hmm.. the $4999 price was quoted to me by a Pioneer insider that I know who was on duty at the booth. I did not ask more details than that and was therefore surprised that you were quoted $5399. Maybe the $4999 price does not come with the HT set as he knows that I'm not interested in those HTIB's. Nevertheless, you have gotten a great deal with the Panny which I reckon is a better buy than the last show with the 32" PWP and 5 year warranty. ;)
cn9601 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Think the flyer is misleasding. Panny is 3yrs waranty STANDARD. For those of us who got the 32LX70M also ;D, it's only 3 yrs without HN extended waranty. I din bother to ask to buy the xtended HN, neither the salesman. Only the Plasma 37PV70 is 3+2 yrs. At the moment, for both Plasma and LCD, I use Standard Color. Denon 1930 is hooked (HDMI) to Plasma and a cheapo also Panny mini-compo DVD is hooked (component video) to LCD. So far quite acceptable to the eyes. Maybe a little Redish for plasma. I try to use Avia DVD to calibrate - but it is just to tedious (need another weekend). So, welcome Bros who have calibrated - contrast, color, sharpness.......... :D PS: The delivery thought Panny is giving away free 32LX70M!!! Bcos he has delivered several places with 32LX70M. I told him to GET REAL in Spore - where got FREE thing in Spore, just that the price is hard to resist :P

BTW, the 3yrs on 32LX70M is after you buy a Plasma. Otherwise, as ala-carte purchase of 32LX70M, think you should get 3+2rys, and of course you will have to buy it $1,000+ 8)
ming1881 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 So not really a real saving in the PWP deal of the 32LX70M as the extra 2yr was worth around $250+ according to the salesman. Why can't they give the same 3+2 for the PWP ??? I guess is better not to have pay for the extra 2yr extended warranty on the 32" lcd as the saving can go into the next replacement after 3yr. BTW, the 3yrs on 32LX70M is after you buy a Plasma. Otherwise, as ala-carte purchase of 32LX70M, think you should get 3+2rys, and of course you will have to buy it $1,000+ 8)
cn9601 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Bro, if am not wrong, 32LX70M is pretty new model. so they are selling it at $899, think it is quite rock cheap :o I have tried to get VIERA TX-32LX700M by wanting to pay $300 more - they refuse to give in. At $899 with 3yrs waranty and $150 NTUC voucher - what more ure asking. Me, I am VERY contented ;D Especially my new toy Panny 37PV70 :P
victoryeo Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Saw yesterday's paper's Best Denki having Panasonic roadshow at Junction 8 Lvl 2 Atrium. Anybody went to have a look? Any good deal for 42PV70H?
