Before you think about the money factor, you should first determine which panel appeals more to you.  Most of the folks that have seen both prefer the reflective panel of the PV70 as compared to the non-reflective panel of the PV700.  The only other differences between the two would be the one additional HDMI port, SDHC reader and PIP capabilities.  I went with the PV70 mainly for the better picture quality (according to my eyes) and the all black border.  One other factor that you may want to consider is that at 3.6k, you might as well go for the Pioneer 427 instead.

Thanks jeff. I was more inclined towards the black panels myself but need to get 2 screens for 2 different rooms and didnt really wanna get 2 of the same screens. Your pioneer suggestion sounds good actually....mebbe wait for the 8th gen as well

I have the brochure of Panny 2007 plasmas.

The features PV700 has over PV70 are:

1 ) Contrast Automatic Tracking System (C.A.T.S.)

2 ) Picture Mode: "Auto"

3 ) Smart Sound Speaker System

4 ) Speakers: Woofer (80 mm round) x 2 (L, R); Tweeter (23 x 100mm) x 2 (L, R)  vs  Full-Range x 2

5 ) Audio Output:  31W ([13W + 2.5W] x 2)  vs  20W (10W x 2)

6 ) SRS TruSurround XT

7 ) SDHC Memory Card Slot

8 ) HDMI Input: 3 (1 front 2 rear)  vs  2

9 ) Multi Window: PIP/PAT/PAP (2-tuner)

10) Anti-Glare screen

FYI, C.A.T.S has been around since PV600 and is supposed to "adjusts the brightness to suit ambient light condition and optimizes contrast".

if u buy Plasma, 32LX70M will be bundled at $899. And it's ($150 NTUC + $100 Robinson). Just called Panasonic to confirm that as well. But waranty only 3yrs by Panasonic. No HN extended waranty.  :-\

TH-37PV70H  warranty is also 3yrs + 2yrs HN (accordingly 100%). But it is $300 NTUC & $100 Robinson, dun know y it has more voucher value than 40"  8)

Different sales people

Looke for a young guy there, nice guy and he did said that he cut to the chase and then straight away go with the lowest price as to not waste time (I was there during lunch so I 'm in a hurry).

The price quoted to you is the official first price they will offer you.

Wow, do you mean if I but the 42PV70, I get to buy the 32LX70M @ $899. and if I subtract the free gift of $250 of vouchers, I actually only pay $649 for the 32LX70?

Any quotation on the 50"?

sorie, a little wrong info about the 32" LCD. Upon double check the flyer and my invoice, the voucher for 32" is only $150 NTUC. Anyway, if you still insist to less it off the $899, then I think at $749 is still a good buy. Do chk out other brand, eg. Sharp, which I think you could even get 37" < $1000, but of course it is old model like AX5. I understand 32LX70M is still pretty new and of course my the other toy 37"PV70 ($300 NTUC + $100 Robinson) is also new  ;D

$4199 was the best offer i got today after bargain down from $4399. Price incl 5yr warr, $200 NTUC & $100 voucher + free installation & bracket, and get to buy 32LX70M at $899.

Hoping for lower price over the weekend.

Thanks for the update. Tried a search and could not find any review of the 32LX70. It seems to be a scaled down version of the 32LX700 without PC input & 1 HDMI.

Anyway, will drop by to have a look.Even at $749 for a Panny 32 inch sounds like a reasonable deal. Especially I'm planning to use it for just the bedroom and watching SD TV + probably some DVDs.

As for the 42 inch set, quite surprised they have not lowered much from the last fair. Price seems to have be hovering around the $2100 mark (after vouchers) for some time liao

The 37" PV70 was quoted at $2099 with $300 NTUC + $100 Robinson.  There were a few other 37" LCD like the Sharp AX and Toshiba WL66 offers going for $1399 but these are limited stock.  My advice is to bide your time and wait for this Saturday.  Normally they will then give options like offsetting the NTUC vouchers into the price directly when competition hots up.  This was what happened during the last show when I got my PV70, they also refused to budge on the vouchers on the first two days.  By the third day, all hell broke loose and I ended getting my 50" for $3888 with $100 Robinson voucher.

hi jeff, wat was the offer when u bought ur tv? they also offered NTUC vouchers? will be good if they can absorb the Robinsons voucher, hehe, cos nothing much to buy from there

i understand the NTUC vouchers and 3 yr warranty is from Panasonic, not HN, will they absorb the cost? the promo from Panny is ending today..unless they extend again?

Hi chchan. 3yrs waranty is by Panasonic. the flyer is quite confusing (something like 1+4). but think generally for most tat are 5yrs = 3yrs panasonic + 2yrs HN (accordingly 100% coverage). but for tat $899 (PinP), eg. 32LX70, if u buy a Plasma, then it is only 3yrs Panasonic without oso Robinson voucher, but wif NTUC voucher  8)
