greenarrow1624705817 Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I'm now using a Logitech X230 2.1 speaker system for my mp3 and gaming use. The sound card is a Creative X-Fi Extreme Fidelity Pro. The overall sound is rather boomy even with the bass down to a low level. I've been recommended a Aego speaker system which claim to be more superior in term of sound. Any bros here can comment on this?
Ratatouille Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 IMO all after market brand pc speakers CMI. get the stereo bose spks made for pc if u wan good SQ on pc.
Calvin83 Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 The 3 that I'll consider are Klipsh, Bose and Aego. Looks and sound quality are important to me. As for Bose, be aware that some of their speakers uses USB connection instead of the usual 3.5mm connector, so it may not utilise your soundcard at all.
Quest88 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 if bass is boomy try to move the subwoofer to a better location first before choosing to buy something new.
weibchen Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 aego m is decent, small sats large sound stage. Bose sound quite okay but for its price, i rather get passive speakers with a trends amp and external dac.

I'm thinking of upgrading the sound card & a speaker sys. in my home pc. Would like a spkr that is good for audio... have any recommendation for me to cut down the searching time... Current cambridge sound speaker system sub is having problem. think the woofer is gone. the woofer is sounding awful, sound more like some ppl "crapping" in the toilet.
kj87 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 aego is supposed to be the best multimedia speaker for music, but not very good for movies and games. price might be a bit put-offish tho, 36x now... could net you a second hand amp and bookshelf probably...
weibchen Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 if you want no floor noise you can find a usb external dac. FUBAR II USB, EMU 0404USB or ZHAOLU DAC 2.5
