username Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Hi everyone, i am not an expert in HT system..i bought a system in 2002, a mirage omni sat 6, with a yahama 630amp...it feels like its very old to me..anyone has any recommendation on if i should just try to sell the system and get a new one..or is the system still any good in comparision to today's standard? if its still quite a good system by today's standard, then what can i do to 'upgrade' it?:) thanks for advice. cheers.
SiriuslyCold Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 first of all, is it properly calibrated - levels matched etc etc?
Desperado Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 If you haven't done what SC suggest, then do it first. Luckily speaker does not evolve as fast as the the rest of HT equipment, so even in next 10 years, when all those Deep Color & Super Duper DD/DTS come along, your speaker still can be used for HT. You might want to change the amp, but ONLY when your DVD player does not have the right connection to your AV amp. But if you want to change because your backside itchy, then suggest you to search all the recent recommendations in this forum..... ;D
