Relax Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Hi , anyone know of the best CD copying s/ware(on pc). Wanted to duplicate a exact copy of a cd with little lost in SQ. thanks in advance
Relax Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 How about "Nero"software? Errh, not sure that why I wanted to check to see if any1 had a confirmation on this. Thanks for info.
SiriuslyCold Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 do you want to copy CD to CD or CD to HDD? CD to CD Nero does it CD to HDD - Look at EAC perhaps you want to upsample into 24b at 96kHz then burn a CD from the resulting WAV file...
weibchen Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 i use freesoftware just as good Burn4free or Deepburner.

basspundit Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 one little question on the same topic....Anyone knows whether the signal that goes from the cd-rom drive to the sound-card, is digital or analog? You know that pathetic little 2 pin cable that connects your cd-rom to sound-card. Cos I remember that playing cds will not produce any sound from your sound card if you did not connect that. So what I'm getting at is do you know whether copying from cd to hdd is via analog or raw digital? Ah I checked it, you can't view the music, the OS just shows you the 'playlists' when you view an audio cd.
warmasterhorus11 Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I took that 2pin cable out and it work well w/o it in all my PCs i hv installed. :)
Quest88 Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 EAC user here also. actually the cd/dvd-rom used is rather impt also. not sure about the 2 pin as i never use it. think quite redundant today right?
basspundit Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Hehe ahh cool, so it goes through the IDE interface....should be digital then :) I took that 2pin cable out and it work well w/o it in all my PCs i hv installed. :)
Quest88 Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 from wat i remember, the 2 pin was to connect from cdrom direct to soundcard. i used it in my 486 days.. so can play cd independent of O/S (using the play button). probably can use it when the O/S is off, but then u still need power. think if going thru s/w players, then u have no need of such cable.
Transworld Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 one little question on the same topic....Anyone knows whether the signal that goes from the cd-rom drive to the sound-card, is digital or analog? You know that pathetic little 2 pin cable that connects your cd-rom to sound-card. The 2 pin cable is digital, whereas the other output 3 pin cable is analog. Most of the soundcards only have input of one each. So choose your best drive for digital out.
