htfreak Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Looks like ValueElectronics has topped the rest again with their HD-DVD player offer. The HD-A2 can now be obtained for US$199.99 with bundled HDMI cable + free US shipping. Throw in Vpost shipping and you should be able to get it at around S$410 or maybe even cheaper if the UOB discount is still available. http://www.valueelectronics.com/htf.htm
kayel Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Anyone interested in an MO for this? If yes, I'm first in line.
htfreak Posted July 25, 2007 Author Posted July 25, 2007 No point doing a MO. By itself, each unit will come under $400 which means you get to save from GST which will more than outstrip any savings from combined shipping.
varun1624705824 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Jeff, do you recommend the HD-A2? Cheers, - V.
htfreak Posted July 25, 2007 Author Posted July 25, 2007 Err.. I have one which I got during the earlier promo at US$238. I think it should answer your question right. ;D
varun1624705824 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 You could always be unhappy with it... ;) - V. Err.. I have one which I got during the earlier promo at US$238. I think it should answer your question right. ;D

blackburn Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 the 12% off exclusive to uob card holders is still on untill 31st july 2007. use this promotional code: 072kvqw
htfreak Posted July 27, 2007 Author Posted July 27, 2007 Thanks for the quick reply. Pls keep me updated. Did you get any discount /promo code for Vpost? Take note that Amazon's prices move around like the US stock market. Hence, when good pricing comes around, you must quickly grab the bulls by the horns. With regards to Vpost charges, it should come in around $100 but I doubt you can take advantage of the UOB offer since it expires end of this month.
blackburn Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 doubt you can take advantage of the UOB offer since it expires end of this month alternatively ;D

jimbok Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Someone educate me on how to ship the item from US to Vpost and back to Singapore? I mean after check out from lets say Amazon whats next for directing it to Vpost? You need to register a vPost account from www.vpost.com.sg They will provide you with a vPost US address which you key in at the shipping address in Amazon.
zapp1624705742 Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 You should check out comgateway's rates...i think they are slightly cheaper than vpost. 8.50USD base charge + 5.50USD for 1st and 2kg, after that 3USD per kg.
