Guest jonlee Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Had booked the tokyo disney hotels liao. Now going to book airtickets. SIA though is cheaper, but the timing not very suitable. So down to ANA and JAL. Any bros with recommendation on which airline is better? JAL is slightly cheaper but not much. TIA. :)
zapp1624705742 Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 I would go for ANA - their service is impeccable...i took ANA back from Narita...super good service.
louco73 Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 I would go for ANA - their service is impeccable...i took ANA back from Narita...super good service. Maybe it's just Japanese Airlines, but JAL also gave me great service. :) I had a broken foot when I went to KL (they do Singapore <-> KL as part of a Japan flight) and they really looked after me. I traveled SIA and Qantas (domestic) while still on crutches and while SIA was also good, Qantas was crap. Considering I only paid $150 to get to KL and they had to organise a wheelchair, stow my crutches and generally create a fuss I was most impressed. The next time I'm going to Japan JAL will be a the top of my list.
armoury Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I flew JAL last year to San Francisco, with stopover in Tokyo. Never again. Not that there's anything wrong with the service, but the seats just seemed extra small, compared with even SIA's, which aren't the biggest around either. Perhaps it was just psychological, given how long the flight was, and since I'm rather tall, but even my wife felt the 'crampness'. Also, their entertainment system wasn't always 'on-demand', of the four flights we took only the last leg (Tokyo - Sing) was on-demand video (their "Magic 3" system, the others only had "Magic 2"). Also, maybe to save costs, when the aircraft was on the ground (before takeoff), the aircon was practically off, it was sooo stuffy and hot.
Guest francis woo Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Personally, I wud place SQ, ANA, JAL and UA in that order when flying east bound. Which ever airline you pick, don't forget the mileage points...... ;)
Jedi R Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Have you tried NorthWest... I went Tokyo in April and the pricing is the best.... They have promotion on and off and the price is very good... during promotion, u can get it around $600 two way. you can check their website for pricing. You can book online. The seats come with individual entertainment system...

I flew to SF and it was quite wonderful with a BIGGER screen, 9" I think. I flew both ANA and JAL to japan b4 and honestly I can't really tell the difference.

Oh ya.... i also took the new plane to SF.... very nice.... the controller in now just below the screen instead of at the side. No longer will u accidentally touch the controller while sitting down...
