dbchoong Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Wonder how much electricity wasted and CO2 generated in the Climate in Crisis concerts? ;D Think if everyone just did a little part everyday - it might help. Here's some simple steps you can take. 1. Power off completely (unplug or switch off the mains) equipment that are not in use. Many equipment these days are "Energy efficient" but they will still consume a watt or 2. If more people did that, the amount of savings can be significant. 2. Take public transport if you can. Many use their cars just to get to the office and home - and the car stays parked the whole day. 3. The next time your conventional light bulb needs a replacement, replace it with energy saving bulbs. Sure, they may cost a bit more but they last a lot longer and consumes a fifth of the power to produce the same amount of brightness. There's probably many more good tips. Feel free to chip in. ;D
hifiluv Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 my kitchen n bathrooms all using Philips Ecotone bulbs (15W for 75W brightness), running for more than 3 yrs todate, still going strong, pretty impressed how long they last compared to previously used 22W flourescent ring tubes. oh yes, when i go to SLS or Alephi to chk out hifi, i take public transport.... actually its to avoid city traffic and hefty parking charges, want to listen in peace mah... ;D
