PS3: Playing MP4 files

I tried connecting my iPod directly to PS3 via the USB port.

PS3 can recognise the iPod but it don't seems to read mp4 files.

Anyone can advise on this?

Make sure you are IN THE CORRECT media option. If you are trying to play a video clip encoded in mp4 format - you need to cycle to the VIDEO option and then you can play it. Hope this is the *mistake* you overlook...or else worst case scenario, your mp4 is not encoded in AVC format...
