That's cheap  :o. Must take a look.

I own quite a few of these MIC CDs which cost ard $12-16. The sound never failed me especially the one recorded with tube (like it very much).

I must really try these $5 CDs...:P

yup! had grabed 2 CDs (definitely fever) to try. one of them was same as yours as shown in your post.

happened tat i hv one of the 1st album in the "definitely fever" series & a few albums from the same record company 'Wonderful Music'. i compared the $5 CDs with my original CDs &  confirmed the $5 CDs are "cheong" ones. original CDs are engraved with the record company name and the title of the album, and oso the paper quality is better with clear & sharp wordings.

i played the "cheong" ones & found the sound quality is almost as gd as the original ones. VFM  :)

Just went to IMM today. The MIC cd/dvd/vcd sale on till this Sunday, according to the counter lady. The DSD cds (maybe around 10 titles, these are the hard cover paperback cases) are there on sale at $5, including the Greatest Basso vol 1. Did not see the vol 2. Also have a few classical CDs priced at $6.xx.

The location is just across the McDonalds at the ground floor.

Hi PHL

Tks for ur feedback, when the booth was at Vivocity, there were many more DSD titles, eg the tube cds, all 4 volumes, got Great Basso Vol 2, Cherry Ma n Lily Chen, a lot of Chinese instrumental, etc.

going by what u say, then not worth to cheong all the way already,  :'(

Hi hifluv,

Just a bit of clarification on my side...as I am not really into chinese singers and also my chinese getting very rusty,  as such, my observation was limited to these DSD titles as discussed in the previous posts while those you are looking for such as Cherry Ma n Lily Chen could be there...just that I did not really took notice of those...

Noticed the Chinese instrumental CDs as well now that you've mentioned it, (I guess most of them should be there, just happen that I did not see the Greatest Basso vol 2.

Hopefully some other fellow forumers staying or working near IMM can be give better feedback.

don't worry about it, there will be more of such sales coming, if Giant has done it, matter of time before Carefour, or others to do the same.

appreciate ur update. Tks  :)

hi!

just came back from IMM. hehee... bought the great basso vol 1 and 2 vol of Paula Tsui HDCD. now enjoying myself on the great basso ;D. think this great basso may not b the original 1. the built quality seem abit lousy. but sound wise seem to be ok. later will try out paula's album...

heheee... good buy ;D

anyone knows where else is selling the tube test cd? tia

Biggest collection I've seen is Bras Basah ground floor and one shop @ People Park.

All MIC CDs found there.

They have DSD, XRCD, DTS-CD and LPCD45.
