tinytok Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I've seen 3 for S$10, 1 for S$8, 1 for S$15 audiophile grade/ I've tried 3 for S$10, it is way soft. I've tried 1 for S$15, with DDD HDCD and many other Ds, it sound bright and messy. I've tried 1 for S$24, Hugo produced, its good. So concluded any CD with MIC label and those Ds recording...avoid it. Whats your take?
hw Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Hugo has always been a reputable brand, specialising in producing true audiophile-quality Chinese classical music. What's disturbing are those recent flood of "XRCD" that are so much cheaper than those $30++ XRCDs. I bought a few of these cheap "XRCD" recently, telling myself I'd be satisfied if they are of NORMAL quality. But there are still some tracks that sounded like those lousy low-bit rate MP3 songs.
