adeng Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 juz heard from some colleagues, a very big tornado is in east coast direction, visible to buildings in suntec area... anyone here saw it?
dbchoong Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I know F1 is coming, but an F1 tornado too? ;D It's most likely a watersprout. If a tornado develops over the sea, it is called a ‘waterspout’. These throw mist, spray and water into the air as they move across the surface of the sea, but they are never as severe as tornado funnel clouds on land. Average wind speeds are about 80 kph.
adeng Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/278343/1/.html check it out... it's Water spout, btw ;)

louco73 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I was in a taxi, going along Tanjong Rhu Road on the phone and the taxi driver pulled out his phone and took pics while driving. He asked me what it was, so I had to explain waterspouts v tornadoes to him. Quite cool to watch, from a distance ;).
