carhorn Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Same thing as with whowillibe. The green light is on and no bass extensions is heard. What the hell is going on? Anyone can advise me?
whowillbe Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 its either the driver or the amp... based on my experience, i would advise you to remove the driver and test with a 9v batt and see whether does the driver move or not. If its does, then must be the amp failure.
carhorn Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Thanks. It's a shame considering it lasted only 6 months But I can hardly find the square head "screwdriver" from hardware/DIY shops to remove the back of the sub. Any suggestions?
whowillbe Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 i have one from svs that i can lent to you. i stay in seng kang area. contact me at 98537375 anyway isn't the isd an old model? so how come your sub is only 6 months?
carhorn Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 just an update for fellow PB10 users. My woofer doesn't respond to the batteries test as prescribed by SvS. So waiting for them to tell me that they sending replacement woofer over.
deepakvali Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 not sure if it is the SVS population growing so we see more SVS subs failing (though technically failure rate remains constant) or is it because their Reliability is really coming down? i remember back in 2002/2003 when handful of us owned the SVS cylinders, we do not hear of our SVS's failing at all and most of us are still kicking the SVS good and well till date. of course there are the occasional owner induced damage which should not be taken into consideration.....anyone else wants to comment ??? ???
carhorn Posted May 17, 2007 Author Posted May 17, 2007 Hi guys One question. I understand tt shipping charges are borne by me if I sent back the damaged woofer. Wat about the charges when they sent the replacement? Do they absorb the charges? Pls advise. Thanks Just found out tt sending my woofer to them for replacement is going to cost me $120! Heart pain

Heart pain Hi carhorn.... sorry forgot to return your call... very busy. For my case, I'll only have to return them the amp which they send me. The spoilt driver I do not return. Reason is because they misdiagnosed my problem... since amp is much lighter, my cost of shipping should be lower. Furthermore, they advised to use the cheapest shipping so i'm sure you can get a cheaper shipping rate than the $120.
carhorn Posted May 17, 2007 Author Posted May 17, 2007 No prob,. whowillbe. The woofer weights about 10kg. Think it's becos of the weight tt's why it is $120. The rate quoted is the cheapest by Singpost. Sian!
