ming1881 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Hi I'm getting my place renovating soon and planning to have a HT projector (1080p). Budget around 1.5K for a motorised screen. Will be placed in the living room with Balcony window (will have curtains but may not be total black type) on the right side and some ambient lights around the living hall & kitchen behind. Mainly used to watch HD movies at night time. Sitting at 3m from the screen. Can you recommend me some of the projectors screens (not expensive like Steward) in the 90-100inch range. Which type of materials & gains recommended for my environment? Any pics, price & contact info would be appreciated. How's the Remaco or Classic screen in terms of picture displays? Thanks in advance.

A major issue with manual pull-down or motorized screens is the wave effect that affects PQ. This is particularly distracting for panning shots. Perhaps you could explore those models with tension harness or etc. For your budget, check out Draper and Dalite. Phil
ming1881 Posted April 30, 2007 Author Posted April 30, 2007 Hi Phil, Thanks for your comments. I meant getting the electrical motorised screen. Also any comments on whether to house the projector or just ceiling hang? Worry dust issue as will be having natural wind (rather than air-cond) most of the time. Place is quite windy most of the time. Not feasible to have a fixed projector screen as will be having a cheap plasma screen (for normal SD viewing) wall mounted over the TV console.
