Jag Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Anyone with any news about this PJ from Benq being available locally?
louco73 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Anyone with any news about this PJ from Benq being available locally? I asked at the IT show and the guy there said there were no immediate plans, but it would likely be a number of months after the W10000 became available. This was one of the main reasons I went for the Mits instead. My guess would be July, but that's just a guess :).
Phil1624705739 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Jag, Benq won't be bringing in the W9000 anytime soon. Phil
Doggie Howser Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 What's the difference btw the 9000 and 10000? Short/Long throw? Pricing?
Jag Posted April 30, 2007 Author Posted April 30, 2007 From my preliminary search, it seems that the diff is US$4k cheaper for the W9000, due to a different variation of the DLP chip used in the W10000 and W9000. That results in a CR drop from 10,000:1 (from the W10k) to 8500:1 (for the W9k). Then again.........if Benq SGP isn't bringing in the W9k, then no point asking further....... :-X

Jag Posted April 30, 2007 Author Posted April 30, 2007 Just doing some research...... ;) DLP somehow still tickles my visual stimulation......
Phil1624705739 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Just doing some research...... ;) DLP somehow still tickles my visual stimulation...... When I got my InFocus, I traded screen size and 720p for black level. This time round, I will do the opposite. It's not as if the 3LCDs are still extremely lacking for the latter. Give it a thought, man. Phil
Jagdpanzer Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Just doing some research...... ;) DLP somehow still tickles my visual stimulation...... Same here. My BENQ DLP8720+ also never give me any problem, compared to my past LCD projector. I think I will get a BENQ again, if price is right. Only think is that their projector never have this horizontal shift feature, which I find it very useful. By the way, is DLP more reliable and "hardy" than LCD?
desray Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 I remember reading somewhere that W9000 using DC2 chip...while W1000 uses another. DC3 maybe?
Phil1624705739 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 not considering DILA huh? ;D Actually DILA = SXRD = LCoS lar. Sony Pearl anyone? By the way, how's the brightness level of the HD1? That's one issue with LCoS-based PJ. Phil
tsammyc Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 The price diff of the Pearl with the JVC is too small to consider it.
