Quest88 Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 dunno about the QC.. we had ordered so many rounds of SVS lately without much issue. my own has lasted for 3+ yrs without issue. i think everyone who has a problem has posted directly here already. statistically it still doesn't look gd on them as its probably more than 1% defect rate. but so far i notice it seems to be the bigger ones like pb12plus/2 owners or ultra/2 owners are more prone to amp problems. not sure if its a coincidence or not. have not seen problems with the medium size ones like pb12plus or pb10nsd. and rahul is the first with sb12plus problem if im not wrong.
whowillbe Posted May 5, 2007 Author Posted May 5, 2007 my replacement amp came and guess what... it had a bent corner around the front plate. Basically rendering it 'unusable' as the air leakage would be very distracting. anyway i did the replacement and in the end i discovered that it really wan't my amp that was dead. It was one of the driver. Dang... now I have to order a replacement driver instead and have to ship back the driver + the replacement amp... really hope that SVS would partially cover my return shipping cost... (anyway I have to bear the return shipping cost as my sub has passed the 45 days period)

Just bring the driver to Singapore Post, press a number, they will do the rest. If you have a suitable box then lagi better, don't have to pay nothing in the end.
basspundit Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 My PB12+/2 almost one year, i turn the power off when I'm not using it(unless its the weekends), gain setting at 9 o clock, default tuning, and calibrated to ref with no extra 'hotness'.....yeah I'm probably not abusing it enough ::)

When I first got mine (25-31PCi) I tuned it by ear, since I didn't have an SPL at the time, and later found that I'd instinctively tuned it about 6dB hot, but since I rarely listen at reference level, that wasn't so bad. So I backed off a bit, otherwise when I do crank it "to 11", it would be insane.. ;D

Was loving the rumble ;D, then the anal side of me kicked in and i 'ref'ed all the channels, I don't watch at ref volume though. Hehe I saved the hotter setting on the receiver to impress guests :), lucky there're the memory presets they're life savers! Wah 11 is quite high! No 'hotness'? That is unusual.
