scoobydoo Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 For non Manu, Chelsea supporters only Would you prefer to see Manu to win the treble or Chelsea to win the quadruple?
armoury Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Either is a nightmare. The best-of-the-worst situation for me personally is the Mancs win the EPL (I don't want a Chelski hat-trick), Chelski win the FA Cup (so no Double for the Mancs, though Chelski join Arsenal and Pool with the domestic cup double), and someone else wins the ECL (i.e. Milan or Liverpool, not fussed either way). But if really had to choose between the two, a second Manc treble (painful as that is).
SiriuslyCold Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 as little as I want Chelsea to win a hattrick, I want Man U creeping towards #18 even less. after last night it might be hard for Man U to get past Milan next week, so ... Man U for the FA Cup and Chelsea for the Premier League.
sonofdbn Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Such a deep philosophical conundrum (speaking as a Man U supporter). - Chelsea quad is totally unacceptable - so if they were to lose only one, which one? Premiership would be good to avoid 3 in a row, but that would mean they get the Champions League, which would give Jose two. But in the end, rather let them get the CL, which is a bit more of a lottery (would also mean 'Pool losing out, which is some consolation ;)) - if they have to get something, let them have the FA Cup - doesn't give as many bragging rights these days - order of preference for Man U: Premiership, CL, FA Cup. Unfortunately if Man U misses either 1 or 3 they end up with Chelsea - order of preference for CL winner if it's not Man U: Milan (which is somewhat unfortunate given what would have to happen next week), then.....very tough choice, but would have to say Chelsea then 'Pool (at least in part because I think 'Pool supporters would also prefer Chelsea over Man U ;D) Ah, the exquisite agony of the end-of-season. In a few more weeks we'll be complaining about how boring life is without football ;)
dbchoong Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 SC, I tried to squish the bug on my screen... turns out it was your avatar! LOL!! ;D
armoury Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 SC, I tried to squish the bug on my screen... turns out it was your avatar! LOL!! ;D Face it, the best avatar on this board is MC Hammer's... Pool supporters will face some consternation about ManYoo getting close to Pool's 18 titles. Since Arsenal are stuck on 'only' 13, that bugs me less, but it wasn't that long ago that Arsenal had more titles than the Mancs. Sigh. And actually, since Arsenal and Chelski are both stuck on zero European Cups, the prospect of Chelski breaking their duck whilst only holding 3 league titles is rather disturbing to me as well.
f_spider Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 As to being big & loud............ Before Jose , there was Alex F............... He was d reason i stopped supporting Man U ( supported Man U as a kid , even during their 2nd division era, wen there were d UNDERDOGS instead )............. Coz Alex F got big headed with victories & became so bloody arrogant, as was some of his players.......... Now he's getting a taste of his own medicine , in d form of none other than - Mr. Jose M......... I dun support Chelski , but given a choice over d 2 , i'd prefer Chelski over Man U :P
FookLai Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 For me it will be Chelsea Champion League and FA Cup, Man U Premeirship. I think neither Chelsea Quadruple nor Man U treble possible. They will need extreme extreme good luck with that.
SiriuslyCold Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Face it, the best avatar on this board is MC Hammer's.. variablefeedback's a close close second. ;)
FookLai Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Chelsea achieve great result for them tonight. 1-0 means liverpool has to score at least 2 goals in return leg in order to win the tie. The last match chelsea conceded more than 1 goal is 12 match ago the totenham match in FA Cup. Incidently, the last match Chelsea conceded 2 goals away from home is a 2-0 lost to liverpool 23 matches ago, but taking into account that the match is played without any recognise centre back(both Cavalho and Terry are injured), this time round want to score 2 against them wont be easy any more. If Chelsea can score 1 in return leg then liverpool has to score 3 goals to get pass them... It will sure be an exciting match to watch next week. Btw, it is showing in malaysia channel NTV7 for free, if you guys have an antenna at home, maybe you guys can tune in with the antenna to watch.
SiriuslyCold Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 ABYSMAL 1st half performance and it could have been much worse if not for Pepe Reina. No one knows why Zenden was on the pitch either, and Pennant, one of our best players in the last 5 or 6 games - didn't get on until 80' If I see Zenden and Bellamy on the starting lineup again, I'll concede the second leg.
void1624705836 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 The moment i saw Zenden in the starting line-up :o Maybe it just me, BUT Zenden is really hopeless. Don't think even the s'league teams will want him.

They were last in the 2nd division in 1974 (and then for only one season, so it's hardly an "era").

Sorry.

SiriuslyCold Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 chill out guys this poll missed out the option "none of the above" ;D
sonofdbn Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 A sad night/day - little consolation except for the Chelsea loss. I still look forward to seeing at least one more Treble by Man U in my lifetime ;D. The dilemma is that while I'll be supporting Milan for the CL, it seems wrong that a club which was involved in match-fixing should win it. On the other hand, it would mean Siriuslycold won't have to waste time redoing his avatar ;).
armoury Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 The best-of-the-worst situation for me personally is the Mancs win the EPL (I don't want a Chelski hat-trick), Chelski win the FA Cup (so no Double for the Mancs, though Chelski join Arsenal and Pool with the domestic cup double), and someone else wins the ECL (i.e. Milan or Liverpool, not fussed either way). Well well well. So my best-of-the-worst scenario is nearly here -- and Arsenal can contribute to it by beating Chelski this weekend, to help the Mancs to the EPL, but Chelski have to win the FA Cup on their own.
