Darthfunk Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Hi guys iam trying to help out my friend here. I just gave away a speaker to my friend for him to hook up as a centre speaker however he has problem getting sound from the centre speaker. He told me there is a limitation with the pre-outs and std output to work together? Never heard of this problem before. His front 2 are driven by a rotel, pre-out from the Marantz Could this be his settings issue or you cant use the pre-out and standard out together? Cheers! Darthfunk
petetherock Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Hi bro So, he is using the Marantz to power the centre, and the Rotel to power the L & R? That should not pose any issues, a common upgrade in fact. Some thoughts: Make sure you friend has the right wiring and conections, don't laugh but someone has added a new power amp but hook up the speakers to the original amp outputs instead. Does the amp have a speaker a/b switch and is this switched off? The amp is working ok? Try using just the 4400 alone w/o the Rotel Speakers all working -you can try hooking up a different pair of speakers to it Good luck P
synthesis1624705793 Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 My front and center are driven by Rotel power amp while surround is driven by Marantz avr. No problem with that. Make sure your friend select 5.1 output instead of stereo ;)
