HomeMovie Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 for those Tarantino fans, dun think we are able to catch it in our local theater. >:( http://www.grindhousemovie.net/
xiao_vin Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 i've watched Deathproof last night. It's heavily cut in local cinema. this is not like a normal Quentin Tarantino movie, very straight forward. overall its quite alright
zamus_aran Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Heavily cut? Even with the M18 rating? That's so disappointing....... Does anyone know whether the other Grindhouse feature directed by Robert Rodriguez, Planet Terror, will be shown in cinemas here?

Does anyone know whether the other Grindhouse feature directed by Robert Rodriguez, Planet Terror, will be shown in cinemas here? i had a bad feeling this would happen... i tell you the censors are a bunch of clueless uncles ::) might as well just watch this on DVD.
HomeMovie Posted June 27, 2007 Author Posted June 27, 2007 that bad hur? if there's heavy cuts they should have rate it at R21, to have less or w/o cuts. think I'll skip, also if Planet Terror will rate same as M18 if they decide to screen. shall wait for dvd then.
naglfar Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 for those Tarantino fans, dun think we are able to catch it in our local theater. >:( http://www.grindhousemovie.net/ The R1 DVD of Death Proof (Extended and Unrated) coming out as a 2-dvd release on Sep 18. Planet Terror will follow on Oct 16. A must get!
zamus_aran Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Will the fake trailers be included in them as well?
Deimos Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Will the fake trailers be included in them as well? they are part of the whole grindhouse affair . sure will be included ;D I want to listen to the girl talk again :P
zamus_aran Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I managed to catch the double bill of Hostel 1 & 2 at the Cineleisure Orchard last Saturday. It was quite enjoyable to see both movies back to back, though I have seen Hostel 1 last year. Which leads me to think how great it would be if Cathay or any other cinemas could show Grindhouse in its entirety just like in the US - Death Proof and Planet Terror, plus the fake trailers. Guess it will just remain a dream then.

I think Death Proof is actually 30 mins longer than the Death Proof shown in the US as the double-bill version. But I heard the movie got butchered in the cinemas here...that's another story. The DVD will be one of the most anticipated releases of this year...at least for me!
zamus_aran Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I think Death Proof is actually 30 mins longer than the Death Proof shown in the US as the double-bill version. Hence the 'Extended and Unrated' DVD of Death Proof as you previously mentioned, I see. Okay, DVD it is.
HomeMovie Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 GV at Plaza Sin is having a back-to-back marathon on 21st Sep. Both rated at R21 not M18. ;D

Deimos Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 really ? that's a surprise :o deathproof was not well received when it was shown. which will be showing first , deathproof or planet terror if deathproof, I am guessing some will leave before Planet terror... and miss the more enticing act 2 ;D
xiao_vin Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 fri's seats are bad, got mine for sat ;D
Deimos Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 fri's seats are bad, got mine for sat ;D enjoy the gal talk... I know I did ~ ;D
zamus_aran Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Watched the marathon last night and was very entertained, especially with Planet Terror. The humour was a total crack up, typical of B-movies of the past. Fergie from Black Eyed Peas was in the cast too, but too bad she did not have much screentime. Only one fake trailer was shown, Machete before the start of Planet Terror. Two Robert Rodriguez regulars, Danny Trejo and Cheech Marin as a Mexican out of revenge and his sidekick priest. Funny to the max! I also learnt what all the fuss was about the girl talk in Death Proof. Really really long-winded and made me feel like I was eavesdropping on the girls. Kurt Russell was hilarious when he whined after being such a tough guy throughout the movie. Overall, thumbs up!
xiao_vin Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Planet Terror has a very stupid plot, but the zombies are very realistic. One of the most gore movie I've watched in cinemas
