armoury Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 When I first read the post, I couldn't think of any; then I read the article, and my answer is obvious: the Blues Brothers! Of course, the fact that they have released a number of recordings which sold reasonably well is probably why I didn't think of them as "fictional" initially, although they are, sort-of -- John Belushi playing Jake Blues and Dan Aykroyd playing Elwood Blues. Is it any different from the Spice Girls, with Victoria Adams Beckham "playing" Posh Spice, Melanie C "playing" Sporty Spice etc etc? One difference, though: despite being actors by trade, the Blues Brothers actually could sing reasonably well... ;D
yellowhandman Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 it could only be...SPINAL TAP! they're the only ones who go to eleven... but runners-up would be the MOS EISLEY CANTINA BAND. worst fictional musicians would be the triple-mouthed Supremes wannabes from the original Battlestar Galactica pilot. honourable mention to hugh grant's character from Music & Lyrics, and the wonders from That Thing You Do.
SiriuslyCold Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 to be fair, the Spice Girls existed outside of the movie - whether or not they are real...
Guest tonytakitani Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 I had a huge crush on Ellen Aim way back then.
Pismo Mac Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 The pianist in "The Pianist". The Fabulous Baker Boys from the movie of the same title. The Wonders from "That Thing You Do". And of course, the Pied Piper of Hamlin :)
SiriuslyCold Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 And of course, the Pied Piper of Hamlin :) rats! We forgot him.... ;)
