Dear bros

I found a hypermart in Australia which sells the X box add on for 199Aus$ plus KK.

Can anyone advice on whether I can use it with a PC, and the specs of the PC needed?

I understand there is a program called powerDVD which can run the X box without the X BOX player itself, is this correct?

Cheers

PS: if anyone is in Aus this weekend or so, the promo is on at Big W. 230V too so no converter needed

Seriously speaking Pete, with the HD-A2 going for rock bottom prices now.  I reckon it's not worth the effort going the HTPC route to playback HD movies especially when you mentioned that you may have to upgrade your PC as well.  Moreover, there's a piece of news in Engadget HD about the industry enforcing DRM patches to be applied on both the Win-DVD software and the player itself just so that you don't end up with a piece of white elephant.  Just my two cents.

Thanks, just exploring my options, I reckon I will sit and watch a bit, the whole HD, HDMI versions, etc is too bewildering right now.

I just want to watch HD in peace, format, decoding format, HDMI interfaces issues not withstanding.

That's why I bought my HDMI - less amp, knowing that when I want in for real, I will get something special, eg that Anthem AVM 50 or D2 is looking like my dream pre-

Anyway a thread on system requirements I found:
