kraken Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Given a choice for 1) Samsung 46" LCD TV 2) Sharp LCD TV (heard nowadays made in Malaysia) 3) Pioneer Plasma 42"/50" Need to have minimum glare from screen, which one is a good buy, with PQ in mind?
kraken Posted April 13, 2007 Author Posted April 13, 2007 Finally bought the Pioneer 427 for my dad, the PQ damn solid, much better than my own 37" Sharp LCD TV....damn.....
TYF Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 No one mentioned Sony Bravia series.... ??? Not good?
bloob Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Sony Bravias are good, among the best in LCD PQ, but at quite a high cost....
Knight_Rider Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 No one mentioned Sony Bravia series.... ??? Not good? The latest Sharp PQ is more fluid. People tend to bend towards Samsung as they are the same panel.

Looking at size btw 42 to 46 ins. yes would like to have full HD, if too X then next option with be HD ready. will add a xbox 360 HD player in the near future. Any suggestion ans recommendation?
FirstTime Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 The latest Sharp PQ is more fluid. People tend to bend towards Samsung as they are the same panel. On the X series, there is a sticker on panel that says 'Sony panel'. So maybe it aint the same? ???

cracker Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 On the X series, there is a sticker on panel that says 'Sony panel'. So maybe it aint the same? ??? Both Sony & Samsung's 40" panels are from their joint venture S-LCD plant. Previously the 32" panels were all from this plant, however due to demand ; both had procured panels from Taiwanese companies, namely CMO & AUO to cope with the situation. Do take note Samsung has, recently, introduced 37" model too which I believed the panel are definitely not from their in-house factory.
FirstTime Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 did not really say the X series is using Sam panel. maybe for S- and V- series only? ???
