f_spider Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Liverpool Fans are d most vocal......... But lately , no sound , no picture....... ???
SiriuslyCold Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 sorry, we fell asleep last night... honestly it was DIRE :( and disappointing. noone's mentioned yet that we have not scored a goal in 3 matches :P despite still being ahead in the attempts department.
louco73 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 sorry, we fell asleep last night... honestly it was DIRE :( and disappointing. noone's mentioned yet that we have not scored a goal in 3 matches :P despite still being ahead in the attempts department. I almost went to sleep myself. What a boring game. If anyone hasn't watched it, tune in at about the 85th min to see Folwer's excellent header with a superb save (unfortunately) from the keeper. The rest was not worth watching.
f_spider Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 In d squad there's only 1 true blue finisher - Robbie Fowler........ If only he had more playing time :-\
void1624705836 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 You got that right SC & Louco. We are all asleep. It was such a bore... In terms of consistency, Liverpool are consistently pushing its fan soaring to an all time high and never fails to clip our wings and send us crashing 3 feet below ground. So they are pretty consistent :P Good this week, mediocre at best the next. Gerrard has not been the same this year. Our only player that can win matches single handedly is running out of steam. Infact in some games, he's just riding along. Of cos we can't just always depend on him alone to win matches, we need more quality players. Players with flair, can dribble and cut through defences & most importantly convert chances into goals.(Only player i think comes close is Luis Garcia - but still not good enough) We need to stop being the Great Pretender and becomes the Great Contender.( At least in terms of the EPL context) We have the money now, who do you guys think we should buy? Or are we good enough with the current bunch, we only need more time? (Sigh, how long is it gonna take!)
SiriuslyCold Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 some improvement needed certainly in terms of passing. yesterday = nonexistent. Sissoko can improve in this - sometimes his great tackling is all for naught - he gets the ball off the opponent and in the next move passes it back to them we also need a good RHS winger so that Rafa has no choice but to play Gerrard in the center of midfield. sometimes it seems we lack ideas or a plan B (against Everton this was blatantly obvious) MOST of all we do create chances bu need someone to put them away regularly - Man U should have been down 2-0 in the first half already, Barca buried by halftime... going back earlier in the season, Chelsea away and most of the other away matches. *sigh*
louco73 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 What do you think of Pennant (sp?) on the right, Kewell on the left and Crouch and Bellamy in the middle. I'd like to see that, but of course Kewell still has a while to get fit :(.
rahul Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Liverpool's problems are not isolated. Arsenal has same problems. Cant score ! To make things worse they concede right at the end and lose. Makes you realise how valuable a good finisher is. We need someone like Eto, if not Eto himself. Whatever he costs. >:(
SiriuslyCold Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I'm not sure Pennant's good enough, given up on Kewell ever getting fit again :P Sissoko.. well someone on bigsoccer.com said he's been performing adequately in the center of the park - my only thought is "adequately" doesn't quite cut it
lewlian Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 just woke up from the stupor that game put me into. ;D wonder if anyone has stats of how we performed with sissoko and without. gut feel tells me something. *s n i g g e r*
silencer13 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Hehe, Sissoko is developing into another Traore. He passes the ball more to the opponents than to his teammates. But if you thought Liverpool was bad, Arsenal was even worse later on. Granted they were missing 3 key strikers, but Arsenal really sucked. Add to that the terrible weather at the end of the game and you have a really sad story.
SiriuslyCold Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 actually it was sad because I was rooting for the bitters (Arse lost, so maybe we can still catch #3) ... LOL the sleet was unbelievable tho- imagine playing in a rain of ice.
f_spider Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 For next season - wat if Ibrahamovic or Torres was available ....... Who do u tink is better ???
Spunky Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I'm not sure Pennant's good enough, given up on Kewell ever getting fit again :P Sissoko.. well someone on bigsoccer.com said he's been performing adequately in the center of the park - my only thought is "adequately" doesn't quite cut it Same here! No point waiting for kewell...any player who's consistently not avaiable for selection or consistently inconsistently is simply not good enough! Have not seen much of Pennant. there seems to be something missing from his game...lack of aggression? Sissoko...*sigh*...we actually started doing quite well when he was away injured...then he came back around the Barca 1st leg...not much going for us since then!! I hope some non-English clubs come in for him with the $$$.
void1624705836 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I think Sissoko certainly needs to work on his passing. I actually like him but eversince his eye injury scare his passing has been abysmal. Maybe he just need to keep it simple. As for kewell, too injury prone. Pennant – Few sparks here and there but i think he's lacking confidence at the moment. Kuyt – Work his ass off, but lack creativity Bellamy - Takes on defender with his pace but off-field conduct questionable Gonzalez - Really lacks confidence, only trick capable of pulling off is push and run kinda of dribble Zenden - Wah this guy is simply overrated imho, either he's simply not suited to l'pool style of play or i dunno...should go off to some other club Actually for new players, i'll give them a full season before passing a full judgement next season. Even Ronaldo needed his 2nd or is it 3rd season in the EPL, to be in full flight.
Spunky Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I believe Zenden was brought in coz he was free and did well both on the flank and in the middle for his prev club. But, sadly, he's already past his prime so his adoption should end this summer. Think we miss Garcia. Although not a consistent player, he seems to have the ability to score against the flow of play, esp when on as a sub.
