Relax Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 My 2 yrs old dvd disc is having tracking problem. Playback freezes at the middle movie! My Eagles Hell Freezes Over also has this problem. Physical inspection on the disc do not reveal any scratch or damage on the disc surface. Do U have this problem with your collections? How do U prevent this from happening? Any learning to share ? thanks for viewing!
louco73 Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 The best solution I know of is to extract your DVD collection to a home theatre PC and send your DVDs to a family member who would be most appreciative. You get bonus family points and an off site back up ;).

InnocentBlood Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Yup, did that and problem still there, on the same chapter. Just wondering U guys have this problem. This is a code 1 dvd bought from Amazon.com. what is the title?
Relax Posted March 17, 2007 Author Posted March 17, 2007 what is the title? So far, Enemy of the State and Hell Freezes Over. Will need to check the rest. Had seen the movie for more than 2 times and previously do not seen this problem. Look like DVDs does not last like they claim to be. rgds
InnocentBlood Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 i don't have enemy of the state on R1 dvd but i do have Hell Freezes Over on R1 and i'll check my copy to see if it's working. sometimes among R1 dvds, there's a common problem for certain titles. the eagles title is very popular in this forum so if there's a problem with it then we can see more people posting about it. but you are right about the longevity of DVDs - they're not made to last :(
jayson1624705825 Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I do have both titles i am still renting them out so far no complains. In fact none of the DVDs which i have in my library since 1998 hve this problem, however I will keep track of this. thanks for the info ;D
