tsammyc Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 In a proper HD resolution the Oppo is an amazing player, especially considering the price tag. It gets an excellent score of 125. The only missing points are 5/10 points for the 3:2 detection (film detail) test. This is not a failure, it just took slightly longer then ideal to lock on to the film mode. HQV's critera for ideal is very harsh, a 10 means the 3:2 mode is detected in under 1/20th of a second. The Oppo took about 1/2 a second, hardly an issue for us end users, but for the benchmark it means -5 points Review: http://www.missingremote.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=790&Itemid=152
c7221624705751 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 ....hmmmm... to be very honest I feel the writer gives too much credit to the oppo. For one, I really dun believe the oppo is capable of strange cadence detection and noise reduction. These 2 are very unique to HQV. (therefore the disc to show off)
