Am waiting too for the HD player. Don't know how to import them from US. So when news of its arrival, I am too excited already...... Just want to confirm if the announcement is true.....

Once you get the quote, go to any local bank and TT the said amt to them follow by an email informing them that you have already TT the money. They will then come back and tell you the shipment details. I got my AX2 within a week of my TT.

I would have bought the XE1 locally (comparable to XA2) if they had launched it :( But Toshiba SG didn't think Singaporeans would appreciate a proper 1080p design. Idiots! Why would they bother launching the Regza Full HD 1080p displays then!!!

scoobydoo Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Kinda disappointed that the one that they are bringing in is only up till 1080i and not the HDXE1 instead. Of course, having said that, i dont think there will be much difference between 1080i and 1080p on my pioneer 427, but i think if i get i will still want a player capable of 1080p... ;D seems like no real reason for me to make a trip to the IT show then... :-\

Same here ... but I finally found the unit on demo at Courts section... anyways it was not on sale and the salesman was putting the player down ... told me no need buy so soon as price will drop...and HD-DVD disc cost $100 a pc... I just smiled ,said thank you and made my way...

Genesis Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Keep in mind that the E1 may be locked to SD region 3....terrible for us who own nothing but region 1 for SD playback, hence why I got the XA2. However, if the E1 isn't officially out for many more months, a SD multiregion crack may be available by then....

So far have not seen or heard this in Singland when you buy dvd player. Only free power cord which came attached or box and manual + remote control. Only Oppo came with HDMI cable.

If you have the REON in your display equipment (e.g., Mitsu 5000 proj), then the A2/E1 is actually appropriate.

It also plays SACD and DVD-Audio. Good point...I'm keeping my 3910 for region 3 playback of local rented dics until the XA2 goes multi. Yet, I'd never reliinquish a DVD player to provide SACD or DVD-A...that's the domain of my Ayre C-5xe :)
