petetherock Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Hi bros Just wondering if anyone has tried using a set top box from Austrlia Tey are really cheap: Less than Aus 100 for a SD one less than Aus 300 for a HD one. Will the frequencies match or is there a way I can find out? Thanks P
zermat Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Australian STB's cannot be used to receive MediaCorp's FTA HD programmes in Singapore. MediaCorp uses mpeg4 H.264 compression, whereas Australian broadcasts use mpeg2. However, Australian STB's can be used for SD digital in Singapore as SD digital are broadcast using mpeg2.
petetherock Posted March 1, 2007 Author Posted March 1, 2007 Thanks bro Wanted to buy a nice cheap STB in Oz. Might still get a Panny HDMI DVD recorder here. Cheers
petetherock Posted April 3, 2007 Author Posted April 3, 2007 Just got a friend to hook up my DVD recorder, sadly I am unable to recieve any digital signals, not sure if it the fault of the Aussie tuner or my area is too low lying.... :( Anyway in the Tagore Ave / Yio Chu Kang area which can recieve digital signals (SD or HD)?
kemp98 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Hi Pete, think the MediaCorp HD trials ended in March....
