I've had this TV for about a year.  All this time I've had my Oppo DVD player plugged into the HDMI port via a DVI-HDMI cable.

I just bought a Yamaha 2700 and connected the Oppo to the 2700 and from there through the HDMI out into the TV.  That works fine too.

However, what doesn't work fine is the upconversion/upscaling function of the 2700 - anything that goes through the component inputs is supposed to be upconverted to the HDMI output - I've tried an XBox 360, a Wii and the same Oppo DVD player.  It works well for about 10 minutes, but then it starts to ?lose sync.  Normally, whenever you change inputs on the Sharp TV, the screen blanks for a moment and a small info screen appears at the top right hand corner of the screen.  This should only happen during the initial change of input.  But it starts to happen every 10-15 secs after about 10 mins of usage.  Audio remains fine and is undisturbed.  Have checked cables etc - all fine.

I'm still not certain where the fault is.  After searching on the web, it seems other people have been having problems too and have suggested a few possibilities:

1.  Yamaha 2700 HDMI output faulty - ?due to overheating

2.  Yamaha and Sharp not synching correctly due to HDMI implentation issues - http://www.popularmechanics.com/blogs/technology_news/4212161.html

This problem is solved for about 1-2 minutes if I turn off the Sharp LCD momentarily.  Then the blinking starts again.  I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues with other HDMI devices connecting directly to this model of TV.  I have no other HDMI device to connect to the TV to experiment with unfortunately.
