buzztiger Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 After reading articles on using a equalizer to alter sound i feel like trying. I have an old stereo system which has a preamp and graphic equalizer. The preamp has a aux in and sub amp out. I need some help on connecting this with my av receiver. Also the manual for the old stereo system is lost.

Jag Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 depends on how many band the EQ has. Chances are, most consumer graphic EQs are not useful for sub EQ-ing.
buzztiger Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 so how do i connect it ? do i get the sub pre out from AVR to the preamp aux in then use the preamp sub amp out and connect to subwoofer ?
synthesis1624705793 Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Yes like that. But turn the sub volume down first since you don't know the default gain, in case you get a shock ;)
