dbchoong Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Yup, what in the world is happening to the youngsters these days? Here's my experience: I was on a bus back to Singapore from KL. My 2 boys were playing "pretend" aerial dogfights at a not too loud machine gun fire, explosions, etc. Boys being boys, they have infinite energy so the dogfights lasted pretty long. There were pauses in between when the elder took an hour long nap, had some food, etc. Seated 2 rows in front was this teenage boy with shoulder length hair and 3 inch finger nails who probably got annoyed because his iPod ran out of batteries. After the Singapore immigration, he came over to my kids and shouted at them to keep quiet. He couldn't stand the torture, etc. He even told me & wife off for not being to control our kids. I thought my kids were reasonably well behaved - staying in their seats entire journey, no shouting or screaming. I repeatedly told him to get back to his seat. Even his mother asked him to get back to his seat. He shouted at his mother "You don't say anything! I've had to put up with your crap for the past few days!" (so much for coming from a well disciplined family). He then showed his claws like Wolverine at my kids. I didn't want to intimidate him - so I just kept asking him to get back to his seat. Eventually he returned to his seat while maintaining an evil stare at my kid (who's only 6 years old). What's wrong with teenagers these days? :P :-[
SiriuslyCold Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 spare the rod, spoil the child (course, its my wife's job to punish my little girl when she does wrong)
Jose Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 What in the world is wrong with parents these days? Allowing their kids to make noise on bus/mrt, running around screaming in shopping centres, playing with lift buttons, and then justifying it's only natural because they are kids. Don't they realise that with all places being air-conditioned, everywhere is enclosed and all noise is magnified? As long as there is a noise level, it disturbs everybody. Go ahead and let your kids scream in an open field or out in the sea, i don't care.
