daniel8149 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 On hauppauge web, it claim that with WinTv-PVR-150MCE, i can only record and watch the same channel (meaning cannot watch other ch while recording a particular ch) but WinTv-PVR-500MCE can. I was thinking, doesn't recording done on the background in the HTPC. Can i just switch over to other ch using my LCD-TV remote while recording being process in the HTPC on other ch? If so, the i can just buy a cheaper 150MCE. Pls advice, thks.
simic Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 that is possible. You just use your TV to watch another channel while your HTPC is recording lor...
kardtoon Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 The 500MCE is also good for recording 2 programs at the same time. For instance you may wish to record channel 5 from 7 to 8pm and channel 8 from 7.30 to 8.30. You don't have to worry about timing conflicts with this card. Personally, I don't use it so much, but some might find it useful.
sonofdbn Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 But I assume that if you want to record one channel and watch another one you need two Starhub boxes?
louco73 Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 But I assume that if you want to record one channel and watch another one you need two Starhub boxes? As I understand it, you could record either free to air or SCV on one tuner and watch free to air on the other or visa versa. If you want to to record two SCV channels you need two decoders, no way out.
