Toshiba HD-E10 (A20 equivalent, 1080p), ETA tentatively Oct 07. There should be a few more BD players coming in, probably Sony BDP-S1 and Pioneer DBP-HD1. Phil
SiriuslyCold Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I thought the XBox HDDVD addon works with PCs?

Doggie Howser Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 2. Toshiba HD-E1, ETA May 07. 3. Toshiba HD-E10 (A20 equivalent, 1080p), ETA tentatively Oct 07. What about the XE1? :(
muscular27 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 wow... u really optimistic that singapore sony is going to sell the ps3 at this price... One gameshop iin Yishun is already taking pre-order for the PS3. 20gb for $6** and the other for $7**. He mentioned he is receiving the machines in Feb.
zapp1624705742 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 nice...finally we have ETA for the tosh :p
HT102 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Sigh.. May is alittle too far away. :( With current availability of the Samsung and arrival of PS3 in March, Toshiba is giving Blu-Ray an easy chance to establish itself here before Singaporeans in general knows what is HD-DVD..
rahul Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 One gameshop iin Yishun is already taking pre-order for the PS3. 20gb for $6** and the other for $7**. He mentioned he is receiving the machines in Feb. Wow. What shop is that ?
muscular27 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Wow. What shop is that ? Not too sure the name of the shop as I was just passing by during my lunch break. But it is located on 2nd or third floor of Northpoint (shld be third). I just asked the staff out of curiosity with no real intention of getting it. There was a poster advertising the ps3's pre-order outside the shop.
htfreak Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 That shop is Tenchi and they have signs advertising pre-orders for PS3 at that 6xx/7xx price and the Nintendo Wii at 4xx. It has been there since last week already. Since this is a comics chain store, you would be able to preorder at their other branches like AMK Central, Vivo City etc.
Phil1624705739 Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 What about the XE1? :( It was supposed to be here but they changed their mind. Pity. Phil
lwm99 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 wow... u really optimistic that singapore sony is going to sell the ps3 at this price... As mentioned by someone, this is the price for pre-order by a shop, not some guessing price. If really interested in blue-ray, PS3 is heavily subsidized by Sony. Even if it is sold at S$1k, consider you have a free game console for buying a BR player.
Doggie Howser Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 It was supposed to be here but they changed their mind. Pity. Phil Looks like I might have to order one from US :( damn.. hate using transformers
Norman_Chan Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Today saw the PS3 selling at Jurong Entertainment Complex - Level 1 shop at US$599 (the 60 gb version) ....just for info ....
htfreak Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Norman, like that you sabo that shop as those garmen SPRING onions will take this info to raid that shop. ;D
zapp1624705742 Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 599USD? Wow, they actually selling at retail price! Anyways, still waiting for the official pricing for a local set >.>
bluetang927 Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Is it good buy for an export set at $1200 with 2 games ?
chainsdb Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 hmmm, a "modded" xbox360 is at RM$1,300 in Malaysia, and the HD-DVD component is US$199 from the States.
karlie Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Norman, like that you sabo that shop as those garmen SPRING onions will take this info to raid that shop. ;D The garmen won't do anything. It is not illegal to sell the imported model.
htfreak Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 The garmen won't do anything. It is not illegal to sell the imported model. There's already been a precedence with the PS2 previously where shops or distributors selling the imported stuff were charged with contravening various garmen regulations like uncertified wireless transmitters, unsafe power supplies etc. Couple this with the fact that the garmen will lose money by cutting corporate tax rate which means they need to recoup from somewhere like enforcing their regulations more thoroughly so as to make up the losses to their coffers.
Doggie Howser Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Looks like I might have to order one from US :( damn.. hate using transformers Just did.. 899 offer with 5 HD DVDs, tho I have no idea how to get them :(
