dbchoong Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 The owner of this domain http://www.iphone.com/ is going to make $$ ;D
SiriuslyCold Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 i dunno... nowadays companies are bit less naive. Microsoft didn't buy zune.com strange thing - we got a check from NetworkSolutions for a domain name we used to hold, but we let it expire (because the event was in 2004) Someone actually bought asiancup2004.com sheesh
dbchoong Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 Well, ipod.com & itunes.com already belong to apple. Surely they've got to own iphone.com too... Someone actually bought asiancup2004.com - haha! Maybe I go get WorldCup1998.com.... :)
Necrohavoc Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I'm not surprised if CISCO already had it registered for their iPhone. wonder how much Apple is going to settle the lawsuit out of court ;D
dbchoong Posted June 5, 2007 Author Posted June 5, 2007 To be launched end of this month in USA. See some of the ads: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQLTjiAfdLY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH0-GKBmOE8
armoury Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I was watching part of Steve Jobs's presentation of the iPhone. All I can say is "I WANT ONE!!!"
sonofdbn Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Well you can't have mine ;D Sorry for the lousy focus.
redryder Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Read somewhere on the net that we need an itunes account to activate the iPhone before it can be used. If that is true, then the entire Singapore market cannot use the iphone since itunes doesn't accept Singapore credit cards, meaning we can't create itunes accounts.
armoury Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 There are ways around that... I'm sure this sort of thing will be worked out before the phone is released here. Possibly the activiation is through the website of whichever mobile operator gets the iPhone -- I do hope that the iPhone won't be exclusive to one of them, or if it is, exclusive to the one I'm already with. I'd hate to be forced to switch, just to get the iPhone.
FookLai Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Unfortunately I saw a downside of the iphone. The sms is going to be using soft keyboard, it will turn off those who use sms a lot. Even there is no hard button, at least show the keypad in normal phone T9 format. I gave up my hp ppc because of this also. Fook Lai

Hate it especially after the screen is stained with facial oil.
wind30 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 what is the big deal about iphone huh? I don't really see much things remarkable about it. My N95 is working pretty well with me. Hard buttons, big screen. Light (for its size) ok battery life, can last weekend with no charging. 5mp cam, 480 video recording, gps, mp3 playback with normal stereo jack (can plug in my grado), NORMAL usb port (ie just need a usb cable to connect), wifi, bluetooth.... It is one phone which I think REALLY did everything I need.
scoobydoo Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Its the snob, cool factor. Its an Apple product, enough said. ;)
Jedi R Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Some like it, some don't... its a fair world.... As for me, why must I wait until 2008...... sigh.....
FookLai Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Do you guys think if I import one iphone through vpost from usa, it is possible to use here? Any network problem or voltage problem? My gf keep hinting, haha.... Fook Lai
simic Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Do you guys think if I import one iphone through vpost from usa, it is possible to use here? Any network problem or voltage problem? My gf keep hinting, haha.... Fook Lai not possible. u need to sign up for a at&t 2 year plan. AND its sim locked. and there is some kind of activation involved, quite i'm quite sure will only happen on at&t network. ;) BUT there are fervent and clever ppl all over the world waiting to get their paws on the iphone, so its a matter of time before all these protections are cracked.
Jedi R Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 There are already some talks in some of the forum that it can be unlock but so far, its not being proved yet.. Will just have to wait and see...
scoobydoo Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 more on the iphone in cnetasia. http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/mobilephones/0,39050603,62025556,00.htm
ntuc Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 let early user help u test out the bugs first mah. why pay more for something that maybe got bugs?
sonofdbn Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Even some buyers in the USA are having trouble activating the phone, so it seems like a big risk bringing in one to use here. I suppose one (expensive) option if you absolutely have to have one, would be to buy one in the USA, get it activated there and then pay AT&T roaming charges here.
htancl Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Got some reliable info that the 2nd Generation Iphone will feature GPS
simic Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 the race is on the hack the iphone lots of juicy hard core details on the bypassing the protections. http://iphone.fiveforty.net/wiki/ind...itle=Main_Page
