c7221624705751 Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 This is the official press release from Philips in CES: http://www.ces.philips.com/press-releases/63%20inch%20final.doc "The 63PFP7422D will be available in June with a suggested retail price of $3,499." :o :o man I've been waiting to get a 60/65 display for so long :)
Quest88 Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 US$? Doesn't sound that fantastic to me really.. In the US, prices are already that low. More interested in the marked-up local price. And it will only be available after June.
tsammyc Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Looks like a winner. I always loved Pixel Plus processing for SDTV. Will be priced cheaper than the 60" SXRD I bought ($6K after discounts etc). However, if this causes the SXRD prices to come down, you might want to consider the 70" SXRD.
vc Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 The pricing is for US market, I'm sure the pricing here will not be as competitive.
darthmax Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 problem is which HDB can put ? Even any of the HDB or Condo lift also can not go in for transportation.... I think got to carry up one floor by one floor from staircase... ::)
kzone Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I transported my 82" fixed screen without dismantling it... no problem going in & out of lifts... so this 60/70" should be no problem also rite? unless the packaging increase the sz by alot...
Quest88 Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 yup. packaging increases size by A LOT. standard 40" tv box already size of a small cupboard.

This time I'm optimistic :) I dun think they will change MSRP drastically in diff country for TVs. The only problem really is, will they sell it in SG ? >:( Last time when I called for the panny 65", although it's in the official SG panny website, and I know there were already 65" installation here, I was told by panasonic all 65" have to indent specifically and project based. >:(

kzone Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Moved a huge teak dining table up 6 storeys before.. 5 man.. we took more than half an hour... toughest part is when we have turn to the next flight of stairs... the space is just too tight to turn. imagine if u stay at the top floor... Whoever gonna order this panel better keep an eye throughout the journey up those stairs...
Quest88 Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 i guess so, although i haven't seen a grand piano in a flat or condo before. :P anyway, they will probably just tell you to remove the packaging and transport like that. will make it easier if you don't mind the risk.
