htfreak Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Looks like the MIGHTY REDS are upping the ante in the war against the bumbling blues. Here's the flurry of news they have released so far even before CES starts. 1. HD DVD To See 300 New Titles in 2007 http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/CES_2007/Disc_Announcements/CES:_HD_DVD_to_See_300_New_Titles_in_2007/417 Among the theatrical blockbusters promised in the coming year are 'The Departed,' 'The Good Shepherd,' 'Flags of Our Fathers,' 'Blade Runner,' 'The Matrix' trilogy and the entire 'Harry Potter' franchise, all from Warner, plus the already-announced February HD DVD debut of Paramount's 'Babel.' 2. HT102 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 HD-DVD players from more CE manufactuers... including our popular Shinco!
audionoob1624705779 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Without more studio support, HD DVD is really fighting an uphill battle in 2007.
muscular27 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Without more studio support, HD DVD is really fighting an uphill battle in 2007. Yes, totally agree with you. Alot of Fox's titles are my fav movies. We will never see the light of fox movies on hd-dvd.
oliverlim Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Main thing I also feel is when a consumer walks into best denki and sees this... Toshiba, Shinco, Onkyo HD DVD players on one shelf Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Samsung Bluray on another shelf I think regardless of PQ, most will go with the bluray camp. Of course there's a third shelf which has a LG universal player...... Hmm..... ;D Oliver
HT102 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I think regardless of PQ, most will go with the bluray camp. Well, it could be different if the Shinco sells say for S$450 (juz a guess), while the cheapest Blu-Ray player (new Samsung) goes for S$1.2k.
velocity1624705768 Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Plus Shinco will probably be able to play all multi-region SD-DVDs.....
zapp1624705742 Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I seriously wont mind a Shinco to act as a stop gap first lol
