YANG Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 After the confirmation on the order of DELL's notebook, we'll come to a page before the keying in of credit card number section. Which asks you whether you will be using the set locally or overseas. What does that mean? For local use, we cannot bring the notebook out to overseas and use temporarily whether on tour or working trips? Or it is just referring to the warranty limitation...?
SiriuslyCold Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 i think its warranty - they want to sell you international warranty :)
sonofdbn Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Does it specifically mention local vs. overseas? IIRC it asks whether the equipment will be used at the delivery location or somewhere else. I suspect it's some legal thing to do with USA control of technology exports in case, say, someone is buying it here for a cousin who works in North Korea wearing a white lab coat and a radiation detector badge.
SiriuslyCold Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 yeah, scary thought that - nuclear bombs controlled by a Windows app I'm no MS hater but... a BSoD could be literal
