DJQ Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 hi bros, i just got the Denon 1730. and my frenz got the Denon 1930. we have yet to try the HDMI connection. PQ was much better than my previous PS2 (to me lah) both using Component Cables on my trusty Panasonic CRT TV with component Input. Wanna ask u bros here how high can the components push the scan rate? i was told only up to 720p tats is if ur display supports it correct? the 1930 can go 1080p but tats double the price tag! compared to 1730 with 1080i
yellowhandman Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 my understanding is that there's no upscaling through the component outputs, only through HDMI.

enthusiast1624705824 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 depends on the display set, my Sony CRT can upscale to 1080i through components, but there are also 1080p displays that can also upscale to 1080p using component cables, not necessarily only thru HDMI
